You grew up in the sunny countryside where most carriages were pulled by horses and you only saw little of the technologies known to the cities of the land. But since you dont see a future in work here, you move to the city of Sindersville in search of work and a better life. But in Sindersville you find what you didn't expect: The city is darkened on work days by the clouds of smoke coming from factory smokestacks, oddly dressed aristocrats look down on you, most employers oppress the rights of workers, the few friendly citizens are utmost shady and not quite sane. The buildings are dark and not always in good shape. The atmosphere is depressing. The homeless lay dying on the streets. Other than the dark, corrupt and somewhat hostile environment, you are fascinated by the technologies you see such as men and women with mechanical limbs, the horseless carriages powered by steam, the state of the art gramophones, a system of telecommunications, the airships hovering above the city and the equipment soldiers carry.
Fearing that you might not find a place to stay and might end up dead before you even find a place to earn your money, you come across a strange house with a vacancy sign on it. It is the Loony Inn, a place for people to stay. But you hear rumors that many of the people who stayed there, ended up moving back out soon after because they couldn't bear to live in one building with the Inns owner, because she was insane, creepy or scary. The people of the area say she conducts evil experiments and allows people to stay, if they sacrifice something. But you think: Rumors are rumors, it cant be that bad and its better than sleeping on the polluted streets. What will occur to you here in Sindersville and will you find the life you had always dreamed of?
Loony Inn: The Loony Inn is a strange looking Victorian mansion not far from the industrial district. It has ten two-room apartments, a dining room, a back garden with exotic plants you have never seen before, a small pub exclusively for people of the house and guests, a dark musty cellar, various mechanical gadgets here and there, toilets on each floor with decent plumbing and an outhouse. The stairs are made of sturdy cherry wood and old paintings as well as pot plants decorate the inn.
